Remarkably, the state has some of the finest hotels in the world. Oberoi Vanyavilas Ranthambhore has been awarded the World's Best Hotel of 2010. Not only that, two out of the 10 World's best hotels are found here as well as India's top 4 hotels. Most of these hotels were former palaces of the erstwhile rulers and like its legacy they spell class and demand money. Hotels in Rajasthan range from heritage, five star, deluxe, to budget ones.

Heritage Hotels: Oberoi Vanyavilas is a stark contrast to the wilds where it is located. Standing at the edge of Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve it presents excellent chance for spotting tigers. Rooms are in the form of embroidered canopies each provided with swanky bathrooms and gardens. Alsisar Haveli is a perfect combination of modernity and tradition. It is right at the heart of the capital city of Jaipur. The hotel is known for its hospitality and excellent services and for hosting folk dances and puppet shows, camel safaris and jeep safaris, naming a few. The Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel in Udaipur is a traditional haveli standing at the eastern banks of Lake Pichola. Each of the 29 rooms has been recreated based on their 17th century grandeur. Some of the other well-known heritage hotels are Diggi Palace Hotel, Hari Mahal Palace Mandawa Haveli in Jaipur, Amet Haveli, Fateh Prakash Palace in Udaipur etc. Pushkar, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur too have numerous of these.

Five Star: Udaipur is famous for its Taj Lake Palace and Udaivilas. Lake Palace is a dream appearing as if it is floating in the waters of Lake Pichola built in excessive style to replicate the glory of the yesteryears. The Oberoi Udaivilas is a recreation of the magnificence of the royal era. Its interiors are splashed with frescoes, mirror work and artifacts and houses lush gardens and pools enclosed by the main structure lined with pavilions and domes. Chokhi Dhani Hotel, Hotel Clarks Amer, Jai Mahal Palace are other popular five star hotels in Jaipur, Hotel Fortune Ummed, Park Plaza, Taj Hari Mahal in Jodhpur, Hotel Rang Mahal and Mahadev Palace in Jaisalmer.

Deluxe and Budget Hotels: Few well known deluxe hotels in Jaipur are Hawa Mahal, Holiday, Hotel LMB, Maharani Palace, etc and the Arya Niwas and RTDC Hotel Gangaur in the budget category. In Udaipur the Hilltop Palace, India International, Lake Pichola are good deluxe stay options and the Baba Palace and Caravan Serai in the budget option. Abhay Days and Apex Inter Continental are more popular deluxe option in Jodhpur, Durjan Niwas and Inn Season in the budget category and there are few guesthouses also.
