Dholpur Traveling

Dholpur is an ancient city. It was created early 11th century by one Raja Dhawal Deo. Later in 1805, it was declared the capital of a Jat state. Due to its strategic location, it witnessed many bloody battles, plundered and razed several times by some of the greatest rulers of India such as Sikandar Lodi, Babur, Humayun. It is also the place where the historic battle of Samugarh took place in 1658 in which Aurangzeb defeated his elder brother Dara Shikoh to capture the throne of the Mughal Empire.
