Baran Vacations

Baran is a city and a headquarter of a district of the same name, lo-cated further into the Hadoti region. Earlier it was part of the Kota city. The added de-light of the place is that it is relatively less crowded. Plus in the woodsy areas of the hills and valleys, chances are a plenty that one will stumble upon ruined temples or abandoned fortress and variety of wildlife.

Going back to history, it was an important city of the Solanki Rajputs in the 14th century. Theories abound on the origin of its name. Some say it was built out of 12 villages. Some reason it was because it receives the second highest rainfall in Rajasthan – 'baran' means 'rain' in Urdu.
