Heritage on Wheels offers an opportunity to relive the glory of Rajasthan and its rich cultural heritage in sheer luxury and opulence. Tooting down least explored regions of Bikaner, Haat, Gajner, Taal Chaapar, Ramgarh, Nawalgarh, Mandawa, Shekhawati including the capital city Jaipur. It promises a splendid journey back to the past to introduce tourists to the heritage of Rajasthan that remains hidden due to the other more frequented destinations.

Heritage on Wheels Train Tours

Heritage on Wheels is appointed with the luxuries of a five-star hotel having royal ambience and beautiful frescoes in brilliant hues and colours. The refurbished train has a princely charm evoking memories of the regal past of Rajasthan. The 14 coaches come with the best and most modern facilities like satellite music channel, DVD, and massage centres. There is a traditionally clad attendant to fulfill your every command. For dining there are Maharaja and Maharani restaurants, offering a vast range of gastronomic delights from local cuisine to continental. There is a bar with quality stock to compliment the food.

The destinations covered during the 4 days/3 nights journey are regions that comprise an open air art gallery abounding in colours and huge painted mansions. It starts every Tuesday and Friday from Jaipur terminating at the same city every Friday and Monday morning respectively. First stop is at Bikaner, one of the three major cities that constitute the Thar Desert. At Bikaner, visits will be made to the intricately carved Jain Temples, Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace and a tonga ride for havelies along with a tour of camel farm to understand how to identify various camel families.

Next halt is at Bikaneer Haat and then Gajner. Here visit is made to the Gajner Palace, an incomparable jewel of the Thar. There are facilities for camel back riding and a tea party at the royal Lalgarh Palace, famous for its lattice and filigree works.

Third day is for wildlife viewing at Tal Chappar at the Black Buck deer wildlife sanctuary. Next is to view the architectural wealth of the state with stops at Ramgarh and then Mandawa and Nawalgarh. These places are dotted with beautiful 19th century abandoned havelis. The walls and ceilings of the havelis are splashed with paintings of various interesting designs using vegetable dye colours.
