Adding further to the beauty of the city are the architectural structures of the British such as the colonial pillars of Connaught Place to grand Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Secretariat and perfectly manicured gardens. In perfect harmony with these historical wonders rise numerous concrete buildings offices of leading multinational companies, several malls lined with shops of top world brands, multiplexes and eating joints. Delhi is also a shopper’s paradise boasting of some wonderfully chaotic and bustling markets to suit the pocket of every traveller. The cosmopolitan city is an eclectic mix of ethnic groups and cultures.

Agra
The former capital of the Mughal Empire is globally famous for the Taj Mahal, glistening in white at the banks of Yamuna River. The enduring symbol of India figures among the Seven Wonders of the World. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. The city remains a leading tourist destination not only for the Taj but owing to its huge collection of Mughal buildings including the Agra Fort where the Emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son for the last eight years of his life. En route to Jaipur is the former capital city Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar and Sikandra, the tomb of the emperor that he himself designed and constructed according to his Turkic custom.

Jaipur
This capital city of Rajasthan is a medley of sights graced by some magnificent heritage hotels, forts, palaces and gardens such as the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, Birla Mandir, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort, etc built by the Rajput rulers. Inhabited by friendly people in multi-hued traditional costumes and with the lanky camels everywhere, Jaipur is truly addictive.
